BRMRG Gathering in Scottsville

I drove down to Scottsville, VA (near Charlottesville) on Saturday to meet up with a group of friends, many who I haven’t seen in several years. We met through the Blue Ridge Mountain Rescue Group, in which I spent a lot of time during college and for a couple years after college. A good number of them have kids now and most I got to meet for the first time. We grilled some pork, reminisced, and had an all around great time. Here are a few pictures.

Hiking Three Falls Loop

On Sunday, I hiked the Three Falls Loop in Shenandoah National Park with Molly, Pam, and Patrick. The hike leaves from Big Meadows and after a mile or two, heads down the east side of the mountain to two different falls. Then it’s back up to Skyline Drive and down the west side to a final waterfall before ascending back up to the Big Meadows lodge area. Total distance was just over 9 miles. We were pretty tired afterward and definitely earned our dinner at Foster’s Grille in Warrenton on the way home.
